Sorry for using English, but I can read German a little, writing not so good.....
This posting is made with approval from Toni,
After having had the infamous broken "platine tankgeber" 2 times and realizing buying whole new "tankgeber" was only option I decided to search for a different solution.
It was a complicated and expensive process but finally managed to get the platine made by a specialized car electronics company. This ceramic plate has exactly the same dimensions and electronic resistance as the original ones. The plates haves been thoroughly tested.
In concert with Toni I would also like to give the German Z3 community to buy such a plate at a very good price (instead of roughly 300 euro for the whole new "tankgeber")
This is probably a one time opportunity, since having these made was expensive and complicated. (But fun to do!)
The price is €24,50 including shipping to Germany.
If you are interested please sent me a private message with your post adress. I will sent you one and give you my bank details for payment. Thank you for reading.
Later I will post some pictures how to install the "platine" in the "tankgeber"
I think enough has been written on this forum what the cause is for the breaking "platine" . If you keep a plate spare you can just wait with exchanging parts (kohlfilter, ventil) until your fuel meter fails.
Edit Toni: Preis im Betreff angepasst (von €24,50 auf €20,00).
